Ο Quentin Tarantino δεν αστειεύεται όταν μιλάει για κινηματογράφο. Θυμάται απέξω ολόκληρους διαλόγους, ονόματα ηθοποιών, το που είχε στηθεί η κάμερα για να τραβήξει μία συγκεκριμένη σκηνή. Το πάθος του για τον κινηματογράφο ξεκίνησε από πολύ μικρή ηλικία όταν έβλεπε με τις ώρες ταινίες στους κινηματογράφους και ονειρευόταν πότε θα έρθει η ώρα για το δικό του ντεμπούτο. Ο μεγάλος σκηνοθέτης γιορτάζει αυτές τις μέρες τα δέκα χρόνια από την κυκλοφορία του Death Proof και όλος ο τύπος έχει βρει την ευκαιρία να γράψει ξανά για τις δημιουργίες του, αλλά και τις μεγάλες του αδυναμίες. Τις αγαπημένες του ταινίες που τις ξέρει απέξω κι ανακατωτά.
Γουέστερν και martial arts είχαν πάντα μία σπέσιαλ θέση στην καρδιά του Tarantino που μπορεί να μιλάει ώρες για σκηνοθέτες όπως ο Brian De Palma και ο Sergio Leone, αλλά και για δημιουργούς low budget ταινιών. Το Sens Critique συγκέντρωσε τις 150 ταινίες για τις οποίες έχει κατά καιρούς μιλήσει με τα καλύτερα λόγια σε συνεντεύξεις του ή τις έχει συμπεριλάβει σε δικές του all time αγαπημένες λίστες (συνηθίζει να τις φτιάχνει τακτικότατα, ανά είδος, δεκαετία, κλπ.). Από κλασικά αριστουργήματα όπως τα Καζαμπλάνκα, Jaws, Οι Επτά Σαμουράι, Ο Ταξιτζής, Πολίτης Κέιν, κλπ, μέχρι πιο ψαγμένα θρίλερ και martial arts φιλμ, είναι όλα εδώ, τα έργα που έδωσαν έμπνευση στον Tarantino για να γυρίσει τις δικές του ταινίες.
